Quality Assurance Engineer - Duluth, GA

Duties and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision and control of the CIO, performs the following duties and responsibilities. Other miscellaneous duties may be assigned.
•Perform tests, debugging, documentation, and installation tasks in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.
•Utilizing software testing tools, develop test procedures for use in automated testing activities.
•Develop project plans, maintain metrics, and interface with various engineering and operations groups, as well as the various state lotteries to set and achieve desired improvement goals.
•Generate test plans, procedures and testing scripts based upon functional specifications as well as test cases/scripts, use cases, metrics and project plans. •Document and share all test results and provide desired feedback to developers' questions about the results.
•Participate in project change control activities throughout the project lifecycle as required.
•Responsibilities include hardware and software testing, test case writing, defect tracking and reporting documentation of Quality Assurance processes and setting-up automated test environments.
REQUIREMENTS
Education, Training and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Science or Technology and two (2) years experience in the IT industry as a developer or QA tester, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Knowledge of SQL and Oracle databases
•Microsoft Office products skills
•Ability to interact with the developmental staff, reviewing functional specifications and developing an intimate knowledge of the requirements of the software
•Ability to document deficiencies found during testing and interfacing with the developmental staff and state lottery staff to ensure that correction procedures are followed.
•Ability to convert functional specifications into test plans and scripts •Ability to utilize software tools and emulators in the performance of their duties
