Quality Assurance

Purpose: A client located in Baltimore is seeking for a Quality Assurance Specialists. The individual must have at least a 2 year degree if not a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or quality assurance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ?
Represents the quality department on new product development teams as assigned.

Conducts product validation and testing including performance, environmental, functionality, reliability and cosmetic evaluations and approval in accordance with engineering and customer specifications.

Participates in design reviews to assure product will be reliable, cost effective and manufacture, while focusing on preventative quality measures, process controls and improvements.

Maintains a system to assure that all products designed by the organization and manufactured by suppliers meet customer expectations and achieve superior quality and reliability levels.

Works with design, development and industrial engineers to produce product designs and processes that contribute to the quality effort of the organization.

Assists Engineering in determining testing requirements and equipment needed for supplier and Polk inspections.

Prepares and maintains specific supplier quality contracts and agreements.

Travels to suppliers (many times on short notice) for inspection of first article and production lots.

Assists in identification and investigation of quality-related problems, error causes, and effective corrective actions with suppliers.

Maintains calibration program for measuring and test equipment.

Participate in quality improvement teams throughout the organization.

Familiar with FMEA's and reliability methodology.

Some domestic and overseas travel is required.

Operates relatively free from direct supervision, except when assigned to especially high-profile tasks which require the full focus of the supervisor.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ?

5+ years in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment.

Thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical testing and equipment.

Experience with new product development, acoustics, software, electrical power management, heat transfer, ESD, and safety/regulatory requirements, a plus.
