QE Java Test Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop test framework for testing an JINI/XML based API interface to ensure functionality and stability (Java, HTTPUnit and/or XMLUnit)

• Develop and execute test suites utilizing said framework • Script development (Perl, Python or Ruby)

• Be familiar with load testing techniques

• Gather and define requirements for building third party simulator(s) as well as intermediary steps to get there

• Analyze and troubleshoot issues and tests

• Develop effective and efficient automation test strategies

• Participation in developing formal automation testing strategy and plan • Defect management

• Providing recommendations / suggestions for improving automated testing efficiency

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES -

• Manage and mentor others on framework and test practices

EDUCATION -

• BS, CS or relevant, related experience.

EXPERIENCE –

• Hands-on experience designing & developing Java-based web applications

• Extensive experience with XML technologies: Web services, SOAP, XML, XML Schema, XSLT, JAXP

• Experience with scripting languages, such as Perl, Python or Ruby

• Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance methodology

• Experience with testing web-based applications

• Experience with HTML, Javascript, DHTML, SQL, and web protocols.

• Travel industry and/or web experience a plus.

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, excellent analytical skills, flexibility, ability to plan and organize, responsiveness, creativity.

• Ability to mentor and transfer knowledge to others.

• Good written and oral communication skills; may be required to work or support activities across multiple websites (same locale)

• Knowledge and experience in high performance computing environments.

Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding multi-tasking environment.
