Purchasing/Procurement - Sr. Technical Engineer

This role will be the first line of contact with suppliers and the interface between the user community and the suppliers. The role needs to have the technical background and credibility within the organization to be successful. An in-depth knowledge of maintenance and operations needs will be a valuable asset. Ensures that all supplies of goods for a portfolio are provided in the most cost effective and efficient manner across the company by developing and implementing a purchasing strategy that incorporates contracts, purchasing tools, and supplier management techniques as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS
Need an individual that has a degree in Business Studies or equivalent with at least 5 years in purchasing. Manufacturing experience preferred. SAP experience preferred with an understanding of the processes and technical needs of the plant. Understanding of MRO's procurement tools such as consolidation, standardization criteria, business needs and priorities, effective MRO nomenclature, business ethics, contract legalities, understanding of supplier's needs, methods, and limitations.
