Public Works Engineer

MRO Engineers was founded in 1991 to focus on the planning and design of transportation infrastructure and site development projects for both public agencies (federal, state and local) and private clients. We are a Caltrans Certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, State of California and U.S. Small Business Administration Certified Small Business, and employ 25 professional and support staff in our Rocklin corporate office and our statewide construction management offices. MRO Engineers provides multi-disciplinary services including the planning, funding, design, and construction management of transportation and land/site development projects.

Summary:

We have a need for a Public Works Engineer with experience that may include the preparation of roadway designs (plans, specifications and estimate), feasibility studies, and/or Project Study Reports. At MRO our project managers have worked in or with local agencies and have experience making presentations to public Boards and Commissions, speaking at public workshops, and addressing the general public’s concerns during project development.

Job Responsibilities:

Prepares and manages project cost estimates and capital budgets
Perform the design and production of municipal projects, ensuring that high quality products are produced within the contracted schedule
Provide construction support to various projects that are being constructed by our local agency clients
Support the marketing efforts on public works projects, as requested by the firm principals
REQUIREMENTS
3-10 years of public works experience (roadways, Project Study Reports, etc.)
Detailed technical knowledge of building systems and local, federal, and state building and site development codes.
Expertise in managing multiple capital projects concurrently
Proficiency in AutoCAD
EIT or California PE strongly preferred
Occasional travel to conduct field visits and consult with clients
Excellent oral and written communication skills
