(1) Working in the Johnson County locationJohnson County company has an immediate opening for a Program/Project Manager. This individual MUST have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from a 4 yr. college and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training. Should be able to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and /or boards of directors. Formal training in Project/Program Management, MS Scheduler, Pert charts, Gantt charts and Visio. This person will also manage the activities of product lines/projects/programs involving department or cross-functional teams. Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project and allotment of available resources to various phases of project; reports findings to management. Confers with project staff to outline work plan and responsibilities. Coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Compiles status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required; prepares project reports for management, client, or others. Significant customer interface, program expansion and increase in current sales and content at assigned customers, 30 – 35% travel, and no direct reports.
