Project Manager - Mining

Successful candidate will be responsible for managing a potentially broad range of environmental and engineering projects for mining and industrial facilities. Successful candidate must have a demonstrated track record of successful project management, and at least general knowledge and familiarity with skill areas including, but not limited to, environmental management, regulatory compliance, permitting, remediation, and facilities design related to environmental controls. The candidate will also be requested to participate and/or lead development of new business with mining and other industrial clients.

DESCRIPTION:
The PM02 reports to a Regional Business Group Staffing Manager or Operations Lead and has accountability to a Regional Project Delivery Manager (PDM) for successful project execution when managing projects. The PM02 manages small to large size projects. The PM02 is the leader/manager of project teams and is supported by technical task leaders as needed. Specific responsibilities include leadership in the application of CH2M HILL’s Project Delivery System to achieve the following project delivery strategic objectives: health, safety, environmental responsibility; client expectations for quality, schedule, and budget; financial performance for project specific targets; project team expectations; operational performance and business unit expectations; and quality. Specific duties include planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff. The PM02 is a participant in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance. Additionally, the PM02 is responsible for the identification of schedule and cost variances and the development and implementation of recommendations for corrective action for negative variances. The PM02 also has a responsibility to help grow the PM resources of the firm through coaching of Associate PMs and task managers.

Basic Qualifications :


BA/BS in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science discipline is required.

A minimum of 6 years of experience in the mining & minerals processing industry including environmental management, regulatory compliance, permitting, remediation and facilities design related to environmental controls is required.

Demonstration of a proven record of successful project management is required.

Preferred Qualifications :


MA/MS in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science discipline is preferred.

MSHA and OSHA 40-Hour Hazwoper certification is desired.

Preferred candidate will possess a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in the mining & minerals processing industry including environmental management, regulatory compliance, permitting, remediation and facilities design related to environmental controls.

The ideal candidate has the ability to effectively work with and/or manage applied sciences and engineering staff represented in a broad range of specific disciplines.

Knowledge and familiarity with the State of Arizona Aquifer Protection Permit program is desirable.

Preferred candidate will have the ability and initiative to develop new business from their existing client relationships, as well as develop new client relationships.
