Project Engineer--Electrical

Sebesta Blomberg is currently seeking a Electrical Project Engineer at their Roseville, MN location.
The successful candidate will apply expertise and knowledge in electrical power distribution for utility, institutional and industrial clients. This individual will be expected to perform with minimal supervision on projects related to industrial production plants, central plant facilities, chiller plants, boiler plants and emergency power systems.
Specific duties will include design of medium and low voltage distribution, load flow and short circuit analysis, control system design and interface equipment specification and procurement, protective relaying design, and schematic diagram design. Also requires knowledge of lighting system layout, design and calculation.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
Bachelors degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering – EIT or PE required
Minimum 5 – 10 years experience in industrial and institutional electrical systems design, commissioning or construction for production facilities, central plants or central utilities
Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution system design and analysis including short circuit, coordination and arc-flash studies
Lighting system design and layout for various electrical classification requirements including general purpose, warehouse, production, hazardous areas, clean rooms, wet location, etc..
Control system layout and design with experience with relay and PLC based designs as well as interface with building
Automation and control systems such as Siemens or, Johnson Controls
Special systems design experience with telecommunications, fire alarm, security, paging and public address is a plus.
Experience developing written equipment procurement and contractor installation specifications System startup and testing experience is a plus.
Knowledge of national electrical code, building codes and construction industry standards.
Familiarity with building mechanical and life safety systems.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Experience with MS Office Suite.
Working knowledge of SKM PowerTools is considered a plus.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Lead and contribute to engineering teams in the delivery of electrical systems designs and consulting on complex projects for local and national clients. Perform construction observations, develop functional test plans and execute tests for a wide variety of electrical systems. Review and analyze data and prepare technical reports. Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors and other project team members.
