Project Architect

Purpose: Aerotek CE represents a Central Phoenix Architectural Firm in their search for a Project Architect.

Location: Central Phoenix

Pay: 65-93k, DOE

Start Date: ASAP

Position Description:

Researches, plans, designs, and administers building projects for clients by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works as part of a project team, under the partnership/mentoring of a Project Director.

1.Participates in marketing opportunities to secure work. Works with marketing staff to secure opportunities.

2.Create a plan for each project, schedule, budget, schedule milestones, staffing projections for the project delivery through CA and closeout in accordance with proposal. These plans should be reviewed with the Project Director and Financial Manager prior to start of project.

3.Develop area of responsibility for each project team member and consultant.

4.Manage the project to produce profit and meet client expectations.

5.Prepare drawing ?cartoon set? to map project for CAD drafters.

6.Manage all phases of permits and approvals (max. 2 city reviews).

7.Supervise one or more design and/or production teams.

8.Provide comprehensive engineering coordination and drawing checking. QA grade B or better.

9.Supervise shop drawing review and coordination within 3 days unless shorter time is established.

10.Write or take responsibility for specifications. Max 5% rework

11.Administer the construction procurement process to achieve client expectations without additional A/E costs.

12.Manage construction administration for projects within budget. Document all errors and field changes. Review with the team and QA director for learning experience.

13.Prepares conference notes for meetings attended within 24 hours for submission to administrative staff.

14.Responds to RFI?s for assigned projects within 24 hours.

15.Prepares code analysis prior to the start of schematic design.

16.Check drawings for progress, errors and omissions. Max 5% rework.

17.Update Allegro weekly to reflect accurate resource requirements for all projects and proposals.

18.Update Status Report weekly.

19.Maintain client contact that produces additional work opportunities.

20.Saves emails to proper job folder or forwards them to the Studio Coordinator for saving.

21.Works with minimal supervision.

22.Participates in learning opportunities.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises 1 to 6 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work. Responsibilities may also include interviewing, assist in hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
