<Responsibilities

Education:

BS Degree in Engineering or technical field or equivalent experience that would support the requirements of this position.

Responsibilities:

MRB Chairman for Program; Reviews and approves Program MRB Bulletin (EMR and QCMR) authority); Serves on Senior MRB for Program; supports resolution of MRB issues with the customer; PCCB Chairman for Program review and approves TC’s and ECP’s submitted to the customer and maintains current status/metrics of those documents; Directs all customer directed design changes to the plant through PCCB; reviews and approves all Program Change Request; review and approves manufacturing process development/changes; Supports program specific facility design, procurement and checkout.
Reviews and approves tooling design, transfer/procurement and checkout.

Responsible for technical compliance to all contract requirements; maintains applicable technical requirements within Program Plan; Generates or reviews contract correspondence regarding technical issues. Primary technical interface with customer and subcontractors; supports and direct and reviews technical issue resolution (TIM, KT, PPA, etc.). Leads technical issue resolution closure with the customer; ensures written contractual closure to all technical issues; proposal support – review and approval of proposal submittals; Supports/Directs and reviews cost reduction and producibility initiatives related, but not limited to: Design/material issues, process/process specification changes. Tooling changes/improvements. Reviews process control data and directs corrective action as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical/Performance Skills

10 years experience as a manufacturing/process engineer, or program engineer supporting production of high value COMPOSITE PARTS.

Functional knowledge of process improvement tools such as Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), PPA's, KT's etc...Training of others in the use of these tools.

Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and experience in working with aerospace specifications and requirements

High level of organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction in a fast paced environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks

Knowledge of hand-layup techniques for complex composite structures.

Knowledge of composite machining techniques using hand and machine tools

Presentation preparation and presentation skills

High energy, results oriented, self-motivated, self-reliant, and team player.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization and customers at all levels

Strong initiative to problem solving abilities

Experience in effectively applying SPC and Six Sigma Quality methods to composite manufacturing processes. Training of other in the application and use of SPC

Proven ability to define procedures, write manufacturing instructions and implement processes that produce positive results.

Working knowledge and unwavering support of safety

Possession of effective planning and risk mitigation skills with consideration for BIG PICTURE EFFECTS

Good understanding of Engineering systems and program plans.

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills:

AutoCAD experience
Lean Manufacturing experience
Experience in directing other engineers and technicians and team members
