Production Planner

Fortune 500 chemical company is looking for a Production Planner to prepare the production schedule. In addition to the scheduling, you will maintain standards of safety, quality, productivity and cost-effectiveness. You will determine and execute procurement needs for chemicals and components with guidance, maintain data that drives the MRP process.1. Work with existing scheduling tools to determine production material needs and prepare the production schedule.2. Process special and lot control quotations and orders.3. Help to develop and maintain inventory plans that ensure optimum economic order quantity in packaging.4. Help develop alternative purchasing, packaging, planning schemes that will reduce setup costs and achieve economic order quantity at progressively lower levels of inventory.5. Back up other members of the Materials Department as needed.6. Interface with other departments as required in the event of vendor problems, delays, rejects, etc.7. Work on select projects/tasks needed by the department/division.Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Proficient in Excel and Word. Capable in Access.Strong organizational skills with superior attention to detailCapable in AS400 extraction tools (Rumba, Client Access)APICS, CPIM membership desirableAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyBS in Science preferred.
