Product Manager/Application Engineer
Work with product management and product development teams to develop product requirements and assure customer needs are met. Key responsibilities include developing product requirements, participation on development teams, writing documentation, qualification testing, field trial support, and supporting product commercialization activities.
Understand and represent the needs of customers through market research, advisory panels, and focus groups. Lead Voice of Customer studies to derive product requirements. Perform the role of customer advocate in product development. Conduct user interface analysis, develop designs and supporting documentation. Author product requirements and functional specifications. Support internal customers as a subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas: HVAC systems/equipment, computers, and networks. Support external customers as a subject matter expert on one or more GCC products, including installation, application, and use. Provide commercialization support, specializing in field office operations. Conduct product qualification testing and participate in field trials. Test end-to-end systems. Author and/or review user literature. Instruct training classes. Participate in field events (seminars, shows, etc). Participate in customer visits. Direct support of some customer projects, including job site work. Some travel. Ability to meet short- and long-term deadlines. Effectively meet the needs of internal and external customers. Ability to work regularly and dependably. Ability to function in a team environment. Demonstrate ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers. Demonstrate ability to perform mental tasks such as making decisions, learning, thinking rationally and exercising good judgment. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
* BSME, BSEE, BSCE required.* 5 or more years of experience with building automation controls products.* Building industry, facilities management, HVAC equipment and/or BAS knowledge.* Demonstrated experience in communicating and presenting technical information (oral and written) to non-technical users.* Computer systems and applications knowledge (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
