Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, TransportationFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Job Purpose
Position is mechanical engineer for Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) transmission and motorized wheel assemblies.Essential Functions
Support Supply Chain in manufacturing process, New Component Introduction and variable cost productivity.
Support OHV NPI programs and validation testing of mechanical components.
Perform structural analysis and simulations for mechanical components.
Provide engineering support for OHV Product Service, Sales and Marketing.
Drive OHV Reliability through Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies.
Develop Product Specifications, Product Definitions, Bill of Materials and Interface documentation.
Responsibilities include mechanical packaging of traction motors/rotating equipment for the OHV Drive System.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
BSME.
3-years experience with OHV, locomotive or heavy industrial machinery applications/design.
Minimum of 6 months Experience with Finite Element Analysis.
Minimum 3 years experience using word processing, spreadsheet applications and design analysis tools.
Minimum of 1 year experience in rotating equipment design and analysis.
Experience that demonstrates excellent customer service.
Willingness to work on Large Haulage equipment for validation and troubleshooting in a mining environment.Eligibility Requirements

Advanced degree.
7-years experience with OHV, locomotive or heavy industrial machinery applications/design.
Demonstrated application of Six Sigma design processes and tools.
Knowledge and experience with Bill of Materials and Interface Control Documentation.
Knowledge and experience in rotating equipment manufacturing.
Demonstrated computer proficiency in MS Windows applications, computer programming.
Experience with ANSYS modeling.
Knowledge and experience in transmission component analysis, applications, design and manufacturing.Work Traits
