Product Development/System Engineer

Purpose: Aerotek is currently in the need for a Product Development Engineer to work in Danbury, CT.
SUMMARY

The Product Development/System Engineer
Valves is responsible for the mechanical design, electrical requirements and development of control valves for the commercial HVAC industry. The position requires an understanding of systems and the interface requirements between components. The position interfaces with all aspects of the design from conceptualization to production. The position will also interfaces with different groups within the company as well as external vendors and customers. The Engineer will work within a project-oriented, hands-on, team environment, interfacing closely with other Engineers, Product Management and Product Procurement.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Primary responsibilities)

-Responsible for the design development, qualification, process development and documentation of products designed at facility.
-Responsible for defining the electrical requirements for new products.
-Responsible for trouble shooting system and electrical interface problems.
-Responsible for the development and maintenance of engineering documentation including prints, bill of materials and technical specifications.
-Know and understand the market for valves: product applications, customers, competitors, customer buying criteria, standards, approvals and codes. Maintain continual awareness of market trends and changes.
-Detail the requirements for new product developments in the form of a Product Specification Document as the first step in the product development process to meet new customer requirements.
-Make proposals for product enhancements and improvements.
-Work with sales and marketing to co-ordinate special sales projects for specific customers to expand the sales of valves.
-Maintain the technical accuracy of all product and technical literature (internal to engineering).
-Provide technical application and product support
-Provide product and technical training as needed to others
-Co-ordinate the initialization and introduction of new product introductions
