Product Development Engineer

Eaton Corporation located in Milwaukee, WI has an opening for a Product Development Engineer.

Lead the design of new industrial motor control products such as variable speed motor drives and soft starters for world wide markets. Apply power conversion, electric machine and control skills to the analysis, design and implementation of high volume motor control products. Responsible for the design and validation of power electronic assemblies for low voltage and medium voltage systems (2300VAC to 12000VAC); development of specifications for electrical components; development testing; validation plans; conduct failure analysis and develop solutions for design issues; collaborate with global engineering resources to develop motor starters and controls.

REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in electrical engineering required, or Bachelors degree with 5-7 years experience.

Experience leading and executing product development programs involving power electronics. Product development expertise in power conversion systems utiltizing SCRs, IGBTs, Mosfets.

Broad knowledge analog/digital circuit design for electronic control, sensors, electric machines and control algorithm development.

Ability to lead multi-disciplined development team for global applications.

Knowledge of design and performance criteria for softstarter and/ or variable frequency drives. Ability to apply simulation tools including P-SPICE and MATLAB-SIMULINK; Thermal modeling expertise highly desired.
