We are looking for students with an engineering background who are interested in obtaining a position as an Engineer Trainee or a Design Engineer Trainee with our Aerospace Glass division.Degrees Considered:BS –Chemical(preferred)
BS- Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering with history of internships or co-op work.Other Qualifications:
Demonstrated project work (past experience, provided via verbal and/or written summary)
Process control familiarity
Demonstrated Problem Solving Skills
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Concepts
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Computer skills (CAD familiarity)
Able to work without close supervision through multiple levels of the organization (shop floor through mid–management)
Extensive (daily) work/interaction on production floor with production operators, supervisors, Quality Assurance personnel, and Technical associates.
Description of Training Program:On-The-Job with resident experts in the automotive and industrial business units. Training and related projects will be with liquid and powder coatings, pretreatment chemistries as well as related activities (logistics, scheduling, planning, maintenance, etc.)
Appropriate outside seminars and training classes
Hands-on paint manufacturing, testing, and process improving performed in lab setting.Typical Assignment after Training:After the initial training, a typical assignment could be placement into a focus factory, responsible for process operations functioning as a process/factory engineer. Once initial training is completed, limited supervisory assignments will be given as well. Other assignments could be a facility/project engineer focused on facility improvements. Other potentials for longer term could be front line supervision, EH&S engineering, production planning, research, resin engineering, etc.Starting Locations: Pittsburgh, PA (Springdale)
