JCPenney - Columbus, OHBASIC FUNCTION:Performs computer console functions to generate output media and provides a quality check of the output before it is released to the client. Maintains tape library files.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:1. Maintains, operates and performs basic problem determination/resolution on the following peripheral computing equipment to create and ensure all output is managed to quality specifications.PC
Bursting
Decollating
Roll-freed equipment
High speed impact printers and high speed laser printers
Folder/nester equipment
Magnetic tape drives ? manual and robotic2.Knowledgeable of NDT2 logic for file tracking, routing, and monitoring.piles, loads and uploads, inspects and distributes input and output materials based on pre-set schedules. Can quickly implement changes to scheduled priorities without supervision when required.4.Performs intermediate maintenance and cleaning, and ensures optimum operation of specified peripheral computing equipment.5.Maintains forms, tapes, and consumables inventory and orders forms/supplies as needed.6.Performs daily tape ejects, daily offsite tape processing, daily monitoring of tape systems, TSM updates, onsite and offsite tape audits, and report processing.7.Updates on-line documents and records other information as required.8.Performs other related tasks as assigned.Basic Knowledge:Requires knowledge of basic computer operations and systems
Requires excellent working knowledge of Windows based applications including Office, Word, Excel; also operating systems and server based packages
Requires ability to use related equipment with accuracy and reasonable speed
Requires ability to communicate orally and in writing correctly and concisely
Requires attention to detail in logging information, filing data, compiling reports
Requires basic computation (math) and keyboard skillsPrevious Experience:Formal schooling (Minimum 2 approved data processing courses) or work experience in computer operations.
