Principle Automated Test Engineer

Purpose: The Contract Engineering Division at Aerotek is currently looking to hire a Principle Automated Test Engineer for one of our clients in the Bedford, MA area. The position is a contract-to-hire and the pay is based upon experience.

Responsible for system validation and verification activities that document and verify the functional aspects of hardware and software designs to meet requirements. This includes v&v on the GEM scripts language, firmware (FPGA) devices, sensor and error handling v&v activities and/or support tools.

Primary responsibilities will be to
- Champion and lead the Software Test Automation effort .
- Work closely with development, project management and W V&V to coordinate automated testing responsibilities.
- Provide leadership and vision in IL test automation efforts.
- Define overall approach and structure (test architecture / design) for automated and/or white box test.
- Create Revise Execute automated and/or white box test cases.
- Perform black box testing as assigned.
- Write software defect reports. Identify and record the exact sequence of activities that were performed to produce software malfunctions.
- Investigate software defects and problem reports to provide additional information in the report to aid defect fixing.
- Review defect reports submitted into defect tracking database for validity.
- Review Requirement Specifications (System, Software Functional) for correctness against test cases.
- Help develop original structure of Requirement (System, Software Functional) Specifications for testability and traceability.
- Ensure traceability of each requirement to software test.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus typically more than 12 years of related experience or Master?s Degree plus more than 10 years of related experience or waiver based on experience.
- Instrumentation Experience in the area of hardware devices.
- Object Oriented Application Development in C++, other OO environment. Window 2002, or XP.
Familiarity with scripting languages.
- Familiarity with test automation tools such as Mercury QuickTest, and Segue SilkTest.
- 5+ years writing and executing test plans.
- 5+ years experience with all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- 5+ years experience with Integration, Acceptance, and System testing.
- 5+ years experience with Performance/Stress, Load, Platform testing.
- 5+ years experience with automated test tools.
- 5+ years SQL experience.
- Write and execute SQL queries to interpret test results and create test data.
- Implement automated test methods and tools.
- Knowledge of testing object oriented API's.
