Principal Systems Engineer

This position is for a principal systems engineer in the Platform Integration groups. Candidate will be responsible for developing and defining system integration requirements, architectures and concepts for communication systems both in response to customer inquiries and for submittal of unsolicited proposals. Position requires candidate to interface with various groups in Rockwell Collins to pull together systems solutions that meet future customer needs.



Candidate must have indepth experience in communication systems architecture in DoD related programs in a lead systems or project engineering role. Candidate must have design experience in broadband communication systems, preferrably on an airborne or transportable platform. Detailed knowledge of systems and protocols used by the U.S military is required. A good understanding of digital protocols including IP, VoIP, and secure video teleconferencing is preferred. Knowledge of L-band and high bandwidth data link communication waveforms as well as familiarity with the hardware that supports these technologies is desired. Integration design experience on an airborne or transportable platform is also desired.



Candidate must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance. Candidate must have good communication skills and experience presenting concepts and design approaches to customers and peers. REQUIREMENTS
This job requires an undergraduate degree in applicable engineering or science field or equivalent with demonstrated high academic and/or job performance and a minimum of 12 years (normally 22-24 years) of appropriate experience or graduate degree in applicable engineering or science field or equivalent with demonstrated high academic and/or job performance and a minimum of 10 years (normally 20-22 years) of directly related experience.
