Principal Reliability Engineer

Reports to: Executive Director, EngineeringJob Summary:
The Principal Reliability Engineer performs Reliability/Maintainability analysis in accordance applicable standards to the system and component level for new design efforts to ensure compliance with contract specifications. They update applicable Contract Data Requirements List submittal to include revised R&M data as well as perform Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis for new design efforts.Responsibilities to Include:
Review engineering drawings and specifications for R&M impact.
Coordinate changes with cognizant engineer.
Review Engineering Change Proposals to determine extent of R&M participation.
Prepare technical justification and cost estimates for R&M activity. Review vendor test plans, reports and procedures to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
Coordinate necessary changes with Engineering, Quality and Procurement.
Evaluate failure analysis requests to determine need and provide appropriate responses.
Review failure analysis reports from suppliers and subcontractors and direct appropriate TM&LS/vendor follow-up plan of action and milestones.
Participate in design reviews and Configuration Control Board meetings to determine R&M impact of change.
Participate in RMA assessment meetings to assign failure classifications and corrective action follow-up.
Responsible for, but not limited to, analyzing TM&LS and vendor equipment design for compliance with reliability/maintainability specifications, advising engineering sections of recommended design changes, contributing to design review/configuration control board meetings, and compiling reliability/maintainability plans and reports.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Mathematics with 8 plus years of related experience.Position Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of applicable R&M MIL-STD's.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word.
Ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.License and Certification Requirements:
