Principal, Network Engineer
The Engineer/Architect is a key member of the Capital Markets Technology Team.
This person is responsible for architecting, managing and monitoring the nework and techhnology tasks around the connectivity relationships with internal and external Capital Market's partners.

Operational responsibilities include being 3rd level escalation point, supervision, customer service, network analysis, information security, network engineering oversight, budget development, and project management of FIX connectivity and all technology related tasks as related to Capital Markets and onsite network & systems infrastructure.

B7 Working very closely with the development & application support groups to ensure a seamless delivery of business objectives as related to FIX engine rollouts and new client implementations.

This candidate must have the ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment spread across various countries and geograhical areas within the United States. Experience with network topologies and protocols, NT system engineering knowledge and previous I/T work within a financial trading environment are required.

B7 Demonstrates knowledge to design networking solutions for customers financial applications requirements. Has designed networks previously in a financial environment and implemented either solely or within a team.
B7 Working knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX, and SNA; and routing protocols such RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRRP & BGP4.

B7 Knowledge of analog & digital telecommunication facilities (e.g. T1/E1, T3/E3, ISDN BRI & PRI), and equipment (e.g. multiplexors, CSU/DSU), in addition to SONET Rings and metro fiber delivery services.

B7 Familiarity with the mathematics/physics of packet data network phenomena relating to performance, quality of service, response time, and throughput.
B7 Additionally, good-writing skills for documenting installation plans, evaluations and tests, and operational procedures; and good interpersonal skills for interacting with technical support staff at remote and customer sites.
B7 Knowledge of financial feeds and protocols, ie. FIX, OUCH, ITCH along with Market Data Vendors (MDVs) and ECNs. Has provided network connectity to various ECNs and or MDVs.
