Job Description Contamination Control Engineer for Goleta , CA facility Day to Day Activities:o Interface with Systems and Design Engineer to establish and implement contamination control requirementso Perform verification of cleanlinesso Work with manufacturing to implement requirements during all phases of production (from design through delivery, including integration and test)o Support fabrication of electronic and optical assemblies in a cleanroom environment.o Review Drawingo Generate and deliver presentations on contamination control at program reviewso Collaborate with main department in El Segundoo Respond to questions and concerns from program and support engineers in a timely mannero Report to program IPT leader and functional section manager on a regular basis. Interface: responsible engineers, integrated product team leads, program managers, internal and external customers, functional section manager
Required Skills: (basic qualifications)As a minimum three Critical skills that this candidate should possess.
At least 8 years of experience in materials and processes, with emphasis for space applications
Excellent oral and written communication skills, using Microsoft Office (powerpoint, word, excel)
Experience with fabrication and test processes in a cleanroom environment
Education Requirements:Bachelor’s/BS degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or materials science. Advanced degrees are preferred. Advanced degrees in other scientific fields would be considered, for example physics or other engineering disciplines.
Required clearance: NoneDesired Skills:Good, basic chemical lab and sampling skillsExperience with material and chemical analysis.Experience working independently and remotelyAbility to support multiple projects simultaneouslyExperience leading projects and mentoring new engineersGood presentation skillsFamiliarity with modeling tools, MathCad, and Access, a plusFamiliarity with electronic and optical assembly design, fabrication and testExperience in Aerospace is preferred, but not required
