Principal GIS Engineer

Senior Geospatial Engineer with at least 10 years of work experience managing and implementing Enterprise Information Technology and Geospatial Information & Services solutions.The Senior Geospatial Engineer is a highly motivated, self-starter with proven experience in a consulting environment, including time managing technical staff supporting Enterprise IT/GIS implementations. The Senior Geospatial Engineer will draw upon a broad understanding of IT and GIS to architect solutions for existing projects, business development/sales, and proposal development. The SA will work closely with technical staff to develop technical specifications and design documents, solution concepts, prepare statements of work, and cost estimates. The Senior Geospatial Engineer will assist with managing the implementation of all technical services, ensuring the quality and timeliness of all deliverables and close collaboration with the project management team.The Senior Geospatial Engineer is a key member of the leadership team supporting CBRNE.Responsibilities:Interface with clients to assess the technical requirements for enterprise pursuits
Lead efforts to manage CBRNE GIS activities.
Function as a subject matter expert for GIS technologies and technical solution components within the 20th Support Command.
Manage technical enterprise solutions including contributing as necessary to the development of key solution components and functionality
Ensure the timeliness and quality of all enterprise technical project deliverables including conducting reviews, and overseeing all project-related quality initiatives [e.g. ISO and CMMI]
Provide management, oversight, and technical involvement in products that include graphical representation of vector data for mission planning and execution, printed large format maps and reports containing geospatial data in reference to command specific issues.
Maintain GIS database, designated vector data and a SAN for imagery.Minimum required:
B.S. Degree in a Scientific or Technical discipline. Minimum of 15 years experience with development and implementation of Enterprise IT/GIS solutions with at least 5 years proven experience managing the delivery of technology solutions. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong communication (written, verbal, public speaking) skills. Management skills, analytical and problem solving skills, briefing and presentation skills. Rapid application development and systems integration and business experience a plus. Ability to mentor other leaders and delivery staff.Proficient in the following software technologies:ESRI Products (ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcServer), ERDAS, BlueMarble, Web Services, ADO.Net, RDBMS, COM, UML, ODBC, ADODB, OLE, OCX, DLL, CDO2000/NTS, MAPI MS Visio, Erwin Data Modeler, Installshield, Oracle, MS SQLServer, Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE)Desired:
M.S. Degree in a Scientific or Technical discipline. Familiarity with ISO and CMMI. 10 years of experience with implementation of Enterprise IT/GIS solutions.Proficient in the following software products:
ESRI Suite of Products, ERDAS, BlueMarble
