Power and Controls Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Square D is the flagship brand of the North American Division, one of four geographic divisions of Schneider Electric, headquartered in Paris, France.Key Job Responsibilities:Responsibilities for this position include engineering of systems most typically used in the monitoring and control of electrical power distribution. Specific tasks may include consulting with customers to determine system operation requirements, designing electrical control panels, specifying and purchasing of hardware/software as required by project, programming of PLC applications and HMI interfaces, and performing start-up services, troubleshooting and training for commissioned systems.
Travel up to 25% to customer sites required. Majority of travel is domestic with occasional international opportunities.Qualifications, Essential:
BS in electrical engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience designing electrical control systems.
PLC programming/troubleshooting experience.HMI configuration experience including graphical screen development.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated project management experience.Willingness to travel.Qualifications, Desirable:
Experience in the field of emergency power generation and distribution.Experience with industry standard communication protocols such as Modbus, ModbusTCP, BacNet, Profibus.Knowledgeable in computer programming languages (VB, C#, C++, Java script), database design (SQL), HTML development.Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies and hardware.Experience with integrating devices from multiple vendors into packaged solution. (system integration)Experience with Modicon PLCs and Concept programming language.HMI experience with Wonderware, Intellution, PanelView and Modicon Magelis.Schneider Electric Company is an equal opportunity employer.
