Post Sales Systems Engineer

MetaCarta, Inc. seeks a highly motivated and experienced Post Sales Systems Engineer to join its Vienna, Virginia. The successful candidate will provide post-sales support to customers after contract award. This person will also work with GIS systems and other partner products.

Key responsibilities include:
Standing up custom GIS solutions.
Install and maintain MetaCarta products at customer sites.
Master MetaCarta technology, writing custom programs against the various MetaCarta APIs.
Integrate MetaCarta with customer environments such as databases, networks and document repositories in the Public Sector.
Answer implementation questions about MetaCarta products.
Write code as necessary for implementations (Python, Perl, HTML, UNIX, Linux experience with a Linux/UNIX command shell, bash, csh, tcsh) at MetaCarta and customer sites.
Respond on short notice to customer sites for maintenance visits.
Use diagnostic and problem solving skills.
Travel locally and occasionally out of the area to customer sites.
Attend trade shows and help manning the booth.
Other sales related duties as described in the Sales Compensation Plan.
Occasionally fill in for Pre-sales SEs.
Maintain the capability to retain a clearance level of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
REQUIREMENTS
Top Secret/SCI current active clearance a key plus and differentiator
Three to five years’ experience at a GIS company standing up custom GIS solutions.
ESRI Background is a must.
Five years’ experience working in a technical environment where there is extensive customer contact.
Three years’ pre sales experience working in a commissionable sales organization.
Undergraduate and postgraduate technical degree(s) a plus.
Five years’ experience in a software product environment.
GIS, Python, UNIX, Linux, Perl, SOAP, HTML and XML experience required.
Past Start-Up experience a plus.
