We seek highly talented individuals to join our dynamic, financially stable company.SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Plant Process Furnace Engineer has direct responsibility for improving and maintaining the glass furnaces for the Johns Manville fiber glass manufacturing plant located in Etowah, TN.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiate short and long term solutions to improve overall furnace operationsPerform complete furnace melter/forehearth inspections dailyTroubleshoot furnace process issues and implement corrective actionsUnderstand and monitor furnace control technology and equipmentInteract with furnace supervisors and production personnel to investigate process problems and improve melter efficiencies and outputCoordinate with Division Furnace Engineering group during scheduled shutdown and repair of the Etowah furnacesInteract with all support systems pertinent to furnace operations such as environmental, controls, batch house operationsMaintain furnace stability by monitoring metrics and control levels (utilize statistical/six sigma tools to make decisions and plan changes)Direct reporting responsibilities and interactionManage expectations, provide collaborative feedback, coaching, and mentoring.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:BS Degree - Engineering OR commensurate applicable experience5-10 years experience in glass/furnace technologyWorking knowledge of continuous filament furnace technologyAnalytical skills to troubleshoot furnace process changesExcellent verbal/written communication skillsSix Sigma certification a plusStrong leadership skills
