Packaging Engineer

Purpose: Aerotek CE has partnered with a large automotive company in the Columbia, SC area. This client is an established manufacturing company in the region and in their market. They are currently seeking a packaging engineer for direct placement with excellent pay and a great working environment.

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

- BS in Mechanical, Materials or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and/or Materials Management
- Ability to design and implement optimized packaging. This includes returnable dunnage containers, carts, bins, shelves, conveyer lines etc.
- Must have experience writing procedures and process instructions
- Ability to develop training materials and train users in all tools, measurements and procedures is a must
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing/lean supply chain concepts is required
- Must have extensive experience working with suppliers in an engineering or quality role
- Must be able to interpret CAD and other assembly drawings, specs and layouts
