PRODUCTION TEST TECHNICIAN

Purpose: TITLE: Production Test Technician EDUCATION: Associates degree preferred in electronic engineering technology or similar field. Equivalent military experience considered.

EXPERIENCE: One to five years of basic troubleshooting on electronic assemblies/subassemblies, preferably in a manufacturing environment involving printed circuit boards (PCBs).

EQUIPMENT: Use and interpret oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, personal computer (PC) and/or Unix computer, in-circuit testers (ICT), and specialized functional testers. Daily use of ESD and safety protective devices: eye protection, smock, heel and wrist straps.

JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, will learn to test and troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies to component level using the tools and equipment listed above. May assist in training new people in the department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set up, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.

Read, interpret, and understand schematics, drawings, and other documentation describing digital and analog circuits in electronics assemblies and subassemblies; analyze these circuits and successfully troubleshoot complex electronic assemblies to component level.

Operate and interpret basic electronic test equipment as well as ICT and functional testers.

Use and understand PCs in a stand alone or networked environment.

Be self-motivated and have the ability and desire to learn new procedures and techniques.

Accept opportunities to cross-train into other plant operations as needed.
Comply with quality assurance policies and methodologies; understand and use IPC quality and workmanship standards; develop a strong quality orientation.

Identify by sight or with appropriate devices workmanship and material defects.

Work successfully in a team context and under the frequent stress if meeting tight schedules.

Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow all published/posted safety standards.

Perform other related tasks that are assigned and accept overtime work, as needed.

Develop effective leadership within the department, and to communicate effectively and tactfully with internal and external customers.Classification:Contract-to-HireCompensation:
