PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM ENGINEERING MANAGER

Our client, a leading manufacturer of polymer resins, is seeking a control systems professional to lead upgrade and enhancement of the production control equipment and infrastructure of their plant in Eastern Ohio.

This position will be responsible for developing and implementing tactical and strategic plans for sustaining the quality, efficiency process control system, and assuring that it meets the highest industry standards.

This position is located in Eastern Ohio.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Develop and implement a 5 year plan for site automation.
Provide internal liaison with corporate management to assure that program priorities, objectives and operating parameters are consistent with the needs of all functions including sales, marketing, research and production.
Develop the business case for control systems enhancement and upgrade projects.
Work with production management to develop project schedules.
Lead the preparation of the justification for the projected investment and cooresponding return.
Develop and implement plans and criteria for outsourcing control system projects to outside vendors and contractors.
Participate as a key member of the management team choosing appropriate control system products and systems and the cooresponding vendors.
Lead the team of engineers charged with day-to-day project management and completion.
REQUIREMENTS
BS degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Experience in leading re-instrumentation projects
Experience in the development of the economic justification, scope of work and budgets for re-instrumentation projects.
Experience managing the process of outsourcing contractors and negotiating their contracts.
Experience with DCS vendors.
