Job Responsibilities:
Position is responsible for development and certification of Advanced Aircraft Programs.Creates and manages product plans that support the program milestones leading to certification and entry into service. In a supervisory capacity, plans, develops, coordinates and directs a cross-functional team of engineering and manufacturing product support personnel.1. Is responsible for an important segment of the Advanced Aircraft Program requirements for the company, which may include but are not limited to the following:a)Establish the requirements, develop plans, and execute their implementation to meet schedules and to ensure integrity of the taskb)Coordinate activities related to the above with the associated organizations within and outside Gulfstream Aerospace2. Manage Advanced Aircraft Program Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality groups. Direct several subordinates and staff. Develops goals and objectives for subordinates. Prioritizes the workload. Makes decisions to hire, trains in methods and procedures, conducts performance appraisals, counsel employees and make other personnel decisions as required.
3. Establishes product work scope, task descriptions, budget estimates and manpower requirements that meet program objectives.4. Presents status of product plan clearly and concisely to management on a routine basis.5. Establishes and communicates clear performance expectations for cross-functional staff. Conducts staff performance appraisals and councils employees on performance and pay.6. Establishes estimating standards, reports activity status, updates weekly schedule and evaluates need for overtime. Holds planning and review meetings as needed.7. Coordinates with functional management regarding project schedule, manpower requirements, budget estimates, technical issues and personnel performance.8. Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving complex engineering problems, determining program objectives and in developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.Gulfstream is an equal opportunity employer.
