These are new positions to expand and develop already available software technology and to work with some of the top developers in grid software technology.System Engineer/Architect/Administrators - 5861You will possess the skills to design, construct, test and implement basic integrated network hardware and software solutions, distributed computing solutions, and physical/logical communications networks.
You will also monitor performance to identify and resolve system infrastructure problems.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Travel to customer sites to gather requirements, install, configure, and maintain computer servers and peripherals.
Develop backup and recovery strategies and monitor servers for capacity.
Conduct performance tuning, and develop long-term network strategies.
Install software upgrades and manage hardware upgrades.
Participate in system testing and develop system standards.
Evaluate technologies and recommend new tools.
Present solutions to clients.REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of professional experience using Linux (Redhat, other distribution operating systems)
Experience in a customer-facing/customer-support role.
Experience gathering customer requirements, completing installs at customer site.
Experience with one or more of the following: Apache, Sourceforge, Subversion, RPM, Package Management.
Ability/willingness to travel to client sites across the US (travel 50%)PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
