Full Job Title: Off-Site Liaison Engineer 4 Skills Management Title Liaison EngineeringJob Level: EXEMPTBusiness Component: Commercial Airplanes (BCA)Job Description: This is a generalist Liaison Engineering job which occurs at an off-site Maintenance and Repair Organization (MRO). The Liaison Engineer Interfaces with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives. Utilizes computer skills in everyday duties researching design configuration, problem-solving and communications. Analyzes and verifies product design and performance for adequacy, including reliability. Integrates technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements; documents results in drawings, data sets, reports, specifications, and supporting data. Competencies Essential skills include understanding all large range of aircraft installation engineering drawings. Has a firm understanding of how to implement and interpt engineering design intent and the ability to disposition non-conformances where the design can not be implemented. Must have strong manufacturing laision skills. Familiarity with passenger to freighter conversion drawings is a plus. Requires understanding of design configuration control concepts and ability to navigate through multi-configured drawings and data-sets. Must be able to travel internationally on long term assignment of two years or more. Candidate must be familiar with, and proficient in, basic Microsoft Office and Email software systems. Must have good written, verbal, and adequate computer skills. Ability to analyze and provide written disposition of production & test discrepancies. Must have a knowledgeable aircraft Liaison Engineering Background and has had to have been a shipside liaison engineer on Boeing products. Duties will include supporting the build of several aircrafts going through modification. (Passenger to freighter conversions). You will represent the engineering package and disposition all non-conformances presented to engineering from the shop floor. Must be experienced in Structure installations and Stress requirments. Wire Routing and Assembly installations will also be a plus. You will need to have a firm understanding of primary and secondary structure installation, as well as equipment installations. You'll need to have the basic knowledge of systems installations and function test procedures and trouble shooting skills using diagrams.Notes: The following are not requirements, but a plus: Ability to represent Engineering in the Material Review Board (MRB) process. Skill in the initiation of design and process changes. Knowledge of repair methods. Knowledge of product redesign or modifications and processes in support of manufacturing initiatives. Ability to evaluate and provide immediate resolution to deviations from 'as designed' on structural components, systems, functional test, wiring and electrical installations. This is an off-site assignment which will most likely be assigned to anywhere overseas. (Italy, China, Singapore, Korea, etc.)
