Northeast Regional Field Service Engineer
Business Unit: GE Industrial, SecurityFunction: ServicesResponsibilities: The Regional Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing technical and customer support for installed systems within the region, and through out the world.Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and debug complex electro/mechanical equipment, x-ray systems, and computer systems and/or complex software. Follow standard procedures to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
Report design, reliability and maintenance problems or bugs to technical support. Work on complex problems where analysis of data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors.
Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
Providing direct technical assistance to the FSE's customers, and customer staff. Maintain regular contact with customers by telephone, in writing and in person. Be a liaison between FSE's, InVision Regional Service Manager and engineering staff.
Determine an action plan in response to customer needs, problems or emergencies.
Provide information for the weekly site up-time report.
Regularly advise the Regional Service Manager on service matters.
Follows and enforces company and departmental policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities include reporting activities, maintaining local spare parts inventory, recording travel expenses and time card, submitting Request for Engineering Action (REA), implementing Field Service Bulletins (FSB), maintaining customer, log books, and using sound judgment when dealing with customers.~HJ~
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: *Requires an AA degree in electronics or formal electronic vocational training. Willing to travel at a moments notice for extended periods of time domestic or international travel.
A minimum of 3 years experience as a field service engineer in medical X-ray, CT, MRI or related equipment.
Computer experience is required; UNIX is preferable.
Good customer skills and the ability to work under pressure are required.
Must be self-starter, work well without supervision, and accept responsibility.CAN BE LOCATED IN ANY STATE.You must be 18 years or older.
