POSITION
OPNET TIGER TEAM
We are looking for two skilled Network Engineers to form our first Tiger Team. As part of our Tiger Team, your roll will be to support a wide variety of projects as a Network Engineer. We have multiple projects ongoing nationwide, as a result, we need engineers willing to travel up to 50% to various client sites situated across the US. Travel will involve one-month travel, one-month at our Bethesda HQ.As a Network Engineer you will help solve enterprise and government customers’ network, application, and server capacity/performance issues. This job combines engineering disciplines with a business focus for delivering IT performance recommendations. You will utilize OPNET’s software to plan, design, deploy, operate, and optimize IT infrastructures. Additional tasks include but are not limited to:
·Perform network capacity planning and performance analyses·Act as an expert for application performance - utilize OPNET products such as ACE and other tools to identify key components of transaction performance including transport, Web, databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2), and middleware (MQ Series, MSMQ, Transaction Monitors, EJB, WebLogic, etc.).·Perform network design analysis and configuration validation·Analyze and understand client’s IT requirements, organization functions, and decision making processes·Produce a solution that fulfills client’s needs within budget and schedule constraints·Full lifecycle project management including service delivery, business development, and customer presentations·Collect network performance information required for simulation modeling studies·Perform server capacity planning and performance analyses for UNIX and Windows based platforms·Present and articulate advanced product features, benefits, and overall product solutions

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONSHere's what you should bring to the table:
·Ability to obtain a US Government Security clearance·BS degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or related area with 3+ years of communication network design and/or analysis experience·Hands on experience/expertise with networking hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Nortel…)
·A thorough technical understanding of communication networks (designs, protocols, components, and operations)·A fundamental technical understanding of multi-tier application architectures and performance issues·A professional, take-charge style·An ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people·A scientific passion for precision and the evolving art of IT·OPNET software experience is highly desired·A can-do attitude and a serious desire to have an impact on your company and the industry
