Network Engineer: Microsoft Exchange Manager (MSX)

Support US Coast Guard Windows 2003 enterprise IT engineering by performing advanced telecommunications network analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance; perform supervisory responsibilities; perform additional duties as assigned. This is a position for a Microsoft Exchange (MSX) manager. They work within the US Coast Guard’s Enterprise Management Facility (EMF) and participates with the USCG engineering group in the design and testing of MSX configurations. They are responsible for the implementation, management, and maintenance of the USCG MSX enterprise architecture to include but not limited to mailbox resources, storage limits, traffic loading, server loading, and software updates/upgrades. The MSX manager also recommends changes to the current architecture and participates in future architecture implementation planning. The provide instructions for monitoring, benchmarking, and setting alarms for MSX. They are also responsible for creation and maintenance of written documentation on policies, procedures, and maintenance of the Exchange enterprise MSX architecture. The MSX manager maintains and manages user accounts by creating, disabling, enabling, and modifying accounts as needed. The are involved in user accounts and files when personnel are transferred. They manage group permissions and establish and maintain procedures and polices for Active Directory and Active Directory administration.
REQUIREMENTS
•Requires 5-8 years of related experience in telecommunications network development
•Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
•Must have experiece with Microsoft implementation at the enterprise level; certification in Microsoft technologies desired
•Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques involved in network engineering
•Expert knowledge of and ability to use relevant hardware, software and other equipment
•Professional certification in one or more specific technologies highly desired; MCSE 2000 or above
•Ability to serve as a technical team or task lead; Strong communications skills; oral and written.
•Travel in support of USCG migration up to 7-10 days per month two to four times per year
•Must currently possess or be able to quickly obtain a DOD security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
