Senior Network Engineer
Our Houston client, a global organization is seeking a Senior Network Engineer responsible for their LAN/WAN in their US and Canadian offices. They provide excellent benefits and a very stable work environment. You will be the primary network person in this office. This is an opportunity to be very visible within a large corporate environmentThe best fit will be someone with 5-10yrs total experience, strong LAN/WAN background including firewalls, routers, switches, some phone system exposure, great communication and customer skills.
·Network and phone infrastructure in 45 offices in the United States and 12 offices in Canada
·Monitor, diagnose and repair LAN/WAN connectivity and wiring issues.
·Implement, manage and maintain Firewalls, Routers and Network Switches.
·Perform firewall administrative tasks, such as add/remove or reset passwords for VPN users.·Manage all network and telecommunication aspects of office moves
·Interface with phone vendors and telecom providers to provision, reconfigure or move voice lines, PRI’s, internet circuits, etc.
·Maintain an updated inventory of network equipment.
·Maintain accurate network documentation and performance metrics.
·Implement security policies and tools as per the company standards.
·Manage all aspects of PBX installations, reconfigurations and upgrades.
Perform PBX administrative functions such as add/move phone extensions and setup voice mail. Benefits

REQUIREMENTS
Required:
Technical:
·At least 5 (five) years of experience.
·BS or BA degree in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
·Expert knowledge of IP networking (DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, VPN, VLAN)
·Advanced firewall administration experience.
·Advanced router configuration experience.
·Experience with large complex networks.
·The following certifications would be considered beneficial: CISSP, Security+, Network+, CCNA
·The following skills/experiences would be considered beneficial: SonicWALL firewalls, HP ProCurve switches, Ericsson and InterTel PBX systems.Other:
·Must be able to work independently on multiple project assignments, work with vendors to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, identify and isolate technical issues, and work in a collaborative effort with other team members as necessary to quickly and effectively resolve technical issues and provide timely status and progress reporting. Must be willing to take ownership of the issue analysis and resolution efforts and commit to “doing what it takes” to resolve technical issues regardless of the effort or timeframe required.·Excellent oral and written communications skills.
·Strong client service attitude capabilities.
