Network Engineer/Event Manager

Responsible for providing 24 x 7 demand maintenance support for IP Cable Regional Network and IP Cable Access Devices on the Common Backbone and ISP Services Platforms
· The position will be required to identify and troubleshoot complex, potentially service impacting conditions which require a broad level of advanced technical knowledge.

· This position is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving single customer troubles that are due to network or application issues. Event Managers troubleshoot IP Cable Abuse issues, Multiple and Single Customer Issues.

· The Event Managers manage the MFAB technical and customer care bridges for resolution of Severity 1 & 2 Service Level impacting events that meet MFAB criteria for IP Cable Network, IP Cable ISP, WorldNet ISP, and VoIP.

· This position does not work directly with end user customers; it works with the different levels of Tier technical teams within the customer facing organizations - NOC to NOC interface

· This position is required to partner with internal Technical Support Groups to determine root cause information and document.

· The Event managers will troubleshoot MIPNS reporting issues for the IP NOC’s. They are the user acceptance for MIPNS upgrades in supporting the IP NOC’s. This position partners with the Tier 3 and 4 technical support members in performing planned maintenance for all hardware, applications, databases, and networking elements managed for the IP Cable Network (regional devices and access devices to the Common Backbone) and ISP equipment.

· Event Managers will expedite all Emergency Maintenance request appropriately.

· Event Managers are responsible for managing the overall maintenance process for IP Cable Network and ISP maintenance events.

· Must have the experience of Routers, TCP/IP, Telnet/FTP.

· General knowledge of Cisco Networking.
