SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for assisting the Network Engineer for all LAN/WAN/Server hardware, software and operational activities. The position will also assist in level 2 help desk support and assisting with telecommunications support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting in the administration, security, maintenance, monitoring, backup, upgrades, and operations of all software and LAN/WAN and server equipment.
Responsible for providing Level 2 technical assistance to the Help Desk personnel.
Responsible for ordering all equipment.
Responsible for assisting in planning all software and hardware upgrades and making sure we are legally licensed for all software.
Must have knowledge of general local area and wide area networking technologies and practices.
Must have a wide variety of hardware, software, and printer solutions.
Must have in depth knowledge of Windows 2003/2000/XP operating systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
On call 24x7 to respond to any LAN/WAN/Server problems via cell phone.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
(MCSE preferred).
