Position Summary: This job entails overseeing Engineering capacity utilization and capacity management processes for all customer facing services in the Washington Market. This person will be working closely with Network Engineering, Head-end Operations, and OSP teams to resolve utilization issues before they become customer impacting. Provide accurate and up-to-date utilization reports to senior management as well as all areas in the Washington Market on a regular basis, and capacity projections for capacity planning. Work closely with Marketing to ensure all network elements are considered from a capacity standpoint for all existing and new product launches. This Position will also be responsible to support the market with process development to integrate capacity solutions efficiently throughout the Market. This position will require good communications with the LMC, CARE, Operations, and senior management on status and issues on a regular basis.Major Duties: (May perform any or all of the following duties)
Manage capacity for all network services including, RF plant and channel line ups, Video On Demand, High speed Data, Digital voice, and the networks they are delivered on.

Work directly with marketing to prioritize the launch of new services based on existing and planned capacity.

Correlate changes to different areas of the network to minimize the impact of capacity related activities.

Plan backup and recovery, and contingency disaster recovery solutions to meet requirements.

Work with other region, division, and national teams to automate processes whenever appropriate.

Refer to Technical Operations work needing field resources to resolve capacity related issues.

Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or recognized equivalent in work experience and self-study.Experience:

3-5 years experience in a complex IP network infrastructure including high speed data engineering and operations.

Experience in network capacity planning and management.

Working knowledge of VOD, HSD, and Comcast Digital Voice applications would be a plus.Preferred Qualifications:

Responsible for writing database processes and operational maintenance procedures, as well as standards and guidelines for SQL Server.

Knowledge of UNIX (Solaris/LINUX) and/or NT systems administration and TCP/IP communications as it relates to networking environments.

Strong project management skills.

Working knowledge of leading vendor equipment such as Cisco Routers and Switches.

A background in RF network support, either in an outside plant or Head End, would be a benefit.

Ability to take direction and function as a contributing member in a team environment.

Proven leadership, and project management skills.

Ability to motivate employees.

Strong organizational/project management skills and the ability to perform logical "flow chart" type troubleshooting required

Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner required.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows XP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project.
