Network Analyst II
Position Summary
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include installation, maintenance, support and operations of the organizations backend enterprise computing environment.
Works under moderate supervision.
Specific Responsibilities Include
Provide operational support, technical know how and knowledge transfer.
Process trouble tickets and trouble shoot issues regarding AD, Exchange, network, servers, LAN, printers, Cisco switches, and others as needed.
Hands on hardware installation, maintenance, and support for servers and cabling.
Build, install, configure, and maintain organization's back end enterprise computing environment.
Support 2100+ user IP network with over 300 servers.
Perform system administration on AD, Exchange 2003, MOM, RightFax, Norton AV, VM , Citrix, and others as needed.
Research, test, evaluate, and implement third party solutions.
Other assignments as needed.
Build and stage servers.
Replace server hard drives.
Assist and guide remote sites with enterprise operation issues.
Resolve remote site issues.
Document and produce technical information, documentation, and procedures.
Participate in monthly after hours maintenance outage.
Work with vendors to resolve issues.
Systems monitoring and metrics reporting.
Data center operations.
Interface with other IT organizations for problem resolution
Awareness of ITIL Service Management principles and processes
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements and Qualifications
Education
Four-year computer-related degree or equivalent experience.
MCSE is a big plus. If no MSCE then be working toward a MCSE with at least two tests completed.
A+ is a big plus.
CCNA is a plus.
Experience Required
Four-year computer-related degree or equivalent experience.
Two years professional experience in an IT environment. This is to include one year significant experience with Windows AD.
High level of knowledge and skill with Windows AD and Windows Server OS in a variety of environments including: enterprise domain administration, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP/WINS, remote server administration, crash recovery, and performance analysis.
Must understand difference between directory and share permissions and know how to apply them.
Must have hands on experience with building and installing servers.
Experience in a medium to large size environment.
Experience with installing network printers.
Experience collecting and analyzing performance data from a variety of sources including Performance Monitor, Event Logs, and other data sources. Ability to analyze, manipulate, and report such data.
Experience with Exchange is a big plus.
Knowledge of and experience with a variety of third-party products.
Experience with Norton Anti-virus.
Good oral and written communications skills with the ability to express technical knowledge, processes, and procedures, in a clear, orderly and easily understood manner.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Proactive with ideas and concepts.
Experience with a service ticketing system.
