Reporting to:VP EHSPrincipal Job PurposeThe N America Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) manager will assist the EHS function in ensuring that the N. America locations comply with all applicable EHS requirements and Invensys requirements. They will lead the development and implementation of EHS programs and systems (compliance/management, etc.). This position ensures compliance with all EHS regulations, establishes and promotes the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions and recommends measures to reduce or eliminate industrial injuries and incidents in compliance with regulatory regulations. This individual will be held accountable for achieving established EHS metrics targets.This position requires expertise in EHS laws/regulations and safety engineering. They will promote the importance of a strong health and safety culture by providing training & seminars and establishing/directing EHS programs. This individual must display good communication, planning, and management skills.ObjectivesFoxboro, MA Facilities
Develop and implement cost-effective EHS programs that ensure compliance with national, state and local regulations, and Invensys policies/procedures. Coordinate all required reports to regulatory agencies on a timely basis.
Conduct internal EHS audits or risk assessments.
Develop training programs and conduct training seminars to comply with OSHA and other regulatory requirements and corporate health and safety initiatives (e.g. driver safety, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, life safety, etc.).
Develop and implement proactive programs designed to reduce injury and illness cost.
Coordinate and implement ergonomics efforts. Identify and conduct ergonomic surveys of high-risk areas. Facilitate development and implementation of solutions to control risks identified. Monitor effectiveness of efforts and modify approach as identified.
Participate in the 5s and other initiatives.
Establish procedures to appropriately review materials used by manufacturing operations.
Support a comprehensive and organized record keeping system so that the locations are capable of verifying compliance with all applicable regulations.
Identify new national/local/state regulations impacting the facility and develop appropriate compliance program.
Coordinate and maintain the site safety committees to ensure employee participation in the site EHS programs.
Provide technical expertise to manufacturing, engineering, and facilities personnel in evaluating the environmental, safety and health aspects of manufacturing processes, chemical use and building design.
Supervise the incident/accident reporting and investigation process including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Federal, state and/or local regulatorsIdeal Business Experience Eight to twelve years experience in a health and safety position, preferably with both manufacturing and service environments.
Experience as an EHS training program developer and trainer.
Substantial experience in conducting EHS risk assessments.Ideal Education, Skills, and Behaviors B.S. or M.S. Degree in Health and Safety Management or Equivalent; Health and Safety Certification(s) a plus
Possesses a comprehensive knowledge of health and safety guidelines and regulations, and a highly refined understanding of the issues related to a manufacturing and service environment
Understands the practical applications of health and safety guidelines and regulations and is successful at implementing them in the workplace
