N.A. Materials Manager
This position will work to achieve cost effective expenditures of company assets, assuring availability of materials, manage supplier development, partnerships, and approve formal contracts and agreements. Drive objectives by contributing materials management information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining materials management system improvements; implementing change.
Specific Responsibilities Include:Meets materials management financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Manage company assets to achieve inventory turns through development and leadership of diverse material strategies including supplier managed inventory, demand pull programs and demand management techniques.
Manage and address E&O inventory through formal inventory aging processes and through liaison with Sales and Marketing for customer financial recovery as appropriate.
Meets sales forecasts and current orders by developing production planning and scheduling systems; optimizing labor, equipment, and inventory resources; examining and resolving schedule deviations and problems.
Purchases materials, supplies, equipment, and services by developing purchasing policies and procedures; reviewing, evaluating, consolidating, upgrading, and approving requests; examining and resolving shortages and quality issues; evaluating and approving vendors; evaluating and approving materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
Manages inventory by determining and maintaining optimum inventory and cost levels. Stores and ships product by developing warehousing policies and procedures; implementing inventory movement systems; developing traffic and shipping policies and procedures; examining and resolving delays.
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Provides management control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
Accomplishes materials management and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree, MBA preferred. At least 10 years of experience, 3 of which must be in a high volume, electronics environment. International experience is a plus.
