Mobile Software Architect
Employees in Intel's Mobility Group design and implement the Intel mobile technology used in notebook computers, phones, ultra-mobile PCs and other portable devices. Intel's industry leading technology includes processors, chipsets, Enhanced Data for GSM Environment (EDGE), Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), Wi-Fi and WiMAX wireless radios. These industry-leading technologies are driving the new mobile era of semiconductors, where people will carry their computing with them, making it truly personal. This group is growing very quickly, and has the broadest set of mobile and wireless technologies in the industry.
In this position as a member of 3PF (Platform Power Performance Forecasting) team, you will be working closely with the chipset, CPU, software, and platform architecture teams to ensure the platform and all its components have the best possible performance and power balance specifically focusing on software tuning and workload development. You will be playing a critical role in influencing next generation mobile platform designs to continually improve the performance and battery life of notebook platforms. Additionally, the position may be expected to conduct software engineering analysis on Intel and competition platforms.
job Requirements
You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with more than three years of experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Strong technical background in hardware and software, specifically architectural concepts is required; familiarity of PC architecture at the component and system levels, basic hardware (logic and/or circuit) design, operating system concepts, BIOS and ability to program (C/C++, VBasic*, Perl)
- Ability to deal with highly complex systems and apply analytical problem solving
- Knowledge of benchmarking and power analysis
- Ability to create your own studies to explore system power and performance sensitivities and develop recommendations
- Excellent planning, organization, presentation, and communication skills
- A self starter with demonstrated strong leadership skills and the ability to drive decisions and actions in cross group working environment
