Department Description: MDB Companion Products (CP) Engineering. Product development group responsible for Audio & Media companion products: Bluetooth voice, Bluetooth stereo, wired personal audio, wearables, portable music and gaming.

Responsibilities/Expectations: This is an integral position in CP Engineering requiring an individual with diverse skills. Collaborate with Product Management to determine feasibility of new products. Utilize technical expertise to define and specify product requirements. Interface with phone development teams to ensure accessory compatibility. Contribute to supplier selection process. Work closely with Program Management to meet project objectives. Provide development support for third party suppliers. Ensure robust design validation and compatibility testing of new products and revisions to existing products. Effect timely resolution of technical issues associated with new and existing products. Mentor and direct junior engineers.

Knowledge Skills: BSEE required, MSEE desirable, with at least three years experience in product development from concept through field support. Familiarity with Motorola phone interface and Motorola product development process desirable. Due to the broad scope of products supported, the individual must have technical expertise in more than one of the following disciplines: acoustics, baseband audio, battery charging, phone-accessory interface, vehicular electronics, RF/antennas, display technologies, embedded controllers or automated testing. Experience with Bluetooth highly desirable. Excellent team and communication skills.
