Mid-Level Remediation Design Engineer

CH2M HILL’s Chicago office is growing and has an exciting opportunity for talented junior/mid-level engineering professionals for environmental/remediation projects in the region.


In this position you will have the opportunity to play a role on all stages of site management projects including: RI, FS, site investigation, remedial design, pilot testing and remedial construction alternatives, with the greatest emphasis on remedial design and construction.


Candidates should have significant experience with RCRA, CERCLA and UST projects. Knowledge of Illinois regulations and guidelines as well as familiarity with contracting, sub-contracting and cost-estimating is desired.

A desire to work on environmental projects, and a willingness to perform field work and oversight work in a manner consistent with our, and our clients, Health & Safety requirements, is a must.

Good verbal and written communication skills are needed to communicate effectively with contractors, the project team, the project manager, and other stakeholders.

The individual should have the attributes of a strong consultant (team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter that takes initiative, versatile, and service oriented).

It would be beneficial if the individual has OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPPER training and 10 hour Construction awareness training.

Qualified candidates will have at least 4 years of site management/environmental engineering experience. A minimum of a BS in environmental, geo-technical, civil engineering, chemical engineering is required.
