MicroStrategy Developer

General Summary:
Provide advanced report development, training, quality assurance, and end-user support for a retail-based enterprise data warehouse primarily using the MicroStrategy platform. Focus is on empowering business users with ability to easily obtain answers to key business questions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (*Essential Functions)
·Development of Ad Hoc Reporting as Requested by Business Areas
·Enhancements to Existing Production Reports
·Testing Modifications to Reports and Supporting Database
·MicroStrategy Training for New Hires and Power Users
·Daily End User Support of MicroStrategy Users in Assigned Business Areas
·Performance tuning (including report SQL, I-Server and Web Server)
·Development and Management of Advanced Report/New Data Specifications
·Creation of Metrics, Filters, and Prompts to Enhance Shared Report Offerings
·Participation on Cross-Functional Teams to Identify New Information Opportunities
·Sufficient Knowledge of Source Systems to Understand Limitations or Possibilities
REQUIREMENTS

·Strong Analytical Skills
·4+ years overall IT experience Required
·2+ Years MicroStrategy Experience with MicroStrategy 7 or Above Required
oAdvanced Report Development Experience, Hands On with the Following:
§Desktop
§Command Manager
§Object Manager
§Intelligence Server
§Web Server
§Report Services
oProficient with the following MicroStrategy Concepts
§Attributes, Facts, Hierarchies
§Transformations, Metrics, Filters
§Reports, Consolidations, and Custom Groups
·Hands On Experience with VB or VBA
·Experience Implementing, Training, and Supporting a 50-plus User Enterprise Data Warehouse
·Strong Understanding of SQL and Relational Database Structures
·Excellent Communication and Collaborative Skills
·Ability to Manage Multiple Development Projects While Providing Superior Customer Support
·ETL (e.g. Informatica) Experience a Plus
·Other reporting experience (SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports) a Plus
·Retail and/or Retail Systems Experience Preferred
