Methods Engineer

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, TransportationFunction: Engineering/ Product DevelopmentResponsibilities: Support Locomotive Center of Excellence Building 12 Cab Assembly Line. Responsible for Lean Progression Projects to enhance working capital by driving changes in the locomotive build process. As part of these changes in the build process one must coordinate project cut-in and standard assembly procedures required to reduce one-piece flow waste and variation. Successful candidate must be able to work directly with Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Engineering Teams.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree or High School Diploma with at least 2 years manufacturing related experience.
Experience with Statistics and Continuous Improvement.
At least 1 year leadership experience.
Experience with principles/procedures related to manufacturing processes and manufacturing costs/financial drivers.
Prior experience managing multiple projects.
Prior experience working with the shop floor (both management & hourly employees).Desired: Ability to work effectively on a team with demonstrated leadership skills.
Greenbelt Certified.
Strong technical background.
Ability to develop and communicate issues effectively at all levels within GE Transportation.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills with the energy and motivation to achieve significant results.
Excellent written, PC, and verbal communication skills.
Excellent quantitative/analytical skills.
