Medical Imaging Engineer

JOB SUMMARY: This Medical Imaging engineering position whose primarily focus is to assist and facilitate systematic design, development, testing, and verification of digital imaging systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Systems Engineering:
• Contributes systems input to instrument design constraints (requirements) and supporting documentation
• Interfaces to Key Suppliers on designing and resolving technical issues
• Owns the design and development of electro-mechanical and other subsystems
• Develops fixtures, breadboards, and prototypes for diagnostics instrumentation and devices
• Develops and maintains instrument and overall system error budgets
• Develops and facilitates execution of system verification plans for assemblies and test fixtures/tools
• Assists in the development and verification of instrument calibration methods and fixtures/tools
• Assists in writing Phase Review reports and project documentation
• Develops prototype purchasing and IQA specifications for components/assemblies
R&D Engineering:
• Assists in running component, assembly, subsystem, and system-level tests
• Presents results and plans at data reviews and sub-team meetings
• Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree, relevant engineering or scientific discipline.

EXPERIENCE: Five years work experience in systems and/or design engineering. Advanced degrees that provided significant experience in fields relevant to required and/or desired engineering and technology skills might lower experience requirement. Experience working with manufacturing engineering is also helpful.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Systems engineering:
• Broad technical background / experience (software, electrical, mechanical)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in engineering design and specifications
• Medical Imaging Experience:
• 4-5 years in Medical Imaging Technology development
• Hands on experience in the design and development of medical capture technology.
