Medical Device Manufacturing Engineer

General Responsibilities and Reporting:
This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing Engineering and is responsible for identifying, researching, developing and implementing cost improvement projects as well as to research and develop modifications to improve performance of existing products. Must maintain GMP compliance in accordance with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures.Education/Experience:
•B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
•2-5 Years medical device related experience
•Basic knowledge of high and low volume assembly technologies
REQUIREMENTS
Skill Requirements:
•Strong written and oral English skills•Strong technical writing skills
•Strong engineering technical skills
•Ability to read, write and understand technical documents, procedures, and S.O.P.s
•Must be able to produce data and reports for management
•Required to have a high level of computer literacy
•Knowledge of Pro/E or Computer Aided Engineering Software (CAD) Knowledge of injection molding and ultrasonic welding

1.Identify, quantify, gain approval and implement cost/quality improvement projects
2.Validation of production packaging and assembly equipment
3.Research and develop product improvements
4.Bring product improvements to production
5.Troubleshoot production machinery when problems are beyond the ability of maintenance
6.Coordinate product testing with outside labs
7.Design new production machinery for testing/manufacturing of product
8.Support manufacturing and Quality Assurance activities
9.Assist sales force in technical product knowledge10.Investigate product complaints
11.Spec, purchase, and validate automated equipment for production use
