Job Description

The control engineer contributes, in cooperation with system and software architects to the design of advanced motion and equipment control systems. He is responsible for the design, prototyping, testing, implementation and integration of the motion control algorithms. Amongst others, this includes the translation of system level performance requirements to motion control concepts, advanced servo control design and implementation. It also requires a thorough understanding of the complete motion system in order to come to a successful integration, especially the motion control hardware and software. He or she will delegate parts of the design and implementation to software designers and will stay in control and verify the results.

Preferred Profile

Willingness and ability to travel, both in the US and internationally. Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with a specialization in Control Engineering. 5 + years of experience in development of motion control and machine control algorithms and applications for high-end Mechatronic systems (high accuracy / high speed). Proven experience with high-end motion control and integration of motion control systems. Proven experience with state-of-the-art control technology. Proven experience with Matlab tools. Knowledge of and affinity with control system theory and the associated mathematics. Broad interest in and affinity with Mechatronic systems, i.e. mechanical, electrical and software aspects. Exposure to real-time software development and system integration. Exposure to object oriented and component based development. Good communication skills and team player a must.
